Rider Coach Preparation Course (RCP) – 2025 Call for Applications
The South Carolina Rider Education Program, administered through the South Carolina Technical College System, hosts Rider Coach Preparation (RCP) courses for individuals interested in becoming motorcycle riding instructors certified to deliver Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum.
To be considered as an applicant a rider should have well established basic riding skills and have relevant experiences in teaching or training.
Course tuition for South Carolina residents is $350 (includes course materials and training).
The course fee for non-SC residents is $600 (includes course materials and training).
Lodging, travel and food costs are not included and are the responsibility of the candidate.
Rider Coach candidates may be interviewed and/or subject to an on-cycle riding evaluation prior to final acceptance to the course.
2025 RCP Location and Schedule:
Midlands Technical College - Beltline Campus

The schedule includes three long weekends on the following dates: Feb 14 - 16 Feb 28 - Mar 2 Mar 7 - 9
The hours will be 8am-5pm each day, with a one-hour lunch break.
Friday the 7th will be from 2pm until 8pm with a one-hour dinner break from 4 to 5.
Participation in all scheduled activities is required for successful completion.

After an initial phone interview, potential candidates will receive an application. In addition to returning the completed application, candidates will also need to submit a class M driving license in good standing and a driving record covering at least the past three years.
