The South Carolina Rider Education Program, administered through the South Carolina Technical College System, hosts Rider Coach Preparation (RCP) courses for individuals interested in becoming motorcycle riding instructors certified to deliver Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum. To be considered as an applicant a rider should have well established basic riding skills and have relevant experience in teaching or training.
Course Tuition:
South Carolina residents - $350
Out-of-state residents - $600
Course materials are provided for use during training and will be awarded to candidates upon successful completion. Materials must be returned if a candidate does not successfully complete for any reason, per MSF policy.
Lodging, travel and food costs are not included and are the responsibility of the candidate.
Rider Coach candidates may be interviewed and/or subject to an on-cycle riding evaluation prior to final acceptance to the course.
Facility-owned motorcycles will be provided and used during training.

The schedule includes three long weekends on the following dates:
May 8,9,10
May 22,23,24
May 29,30,31
The hours will be 8am-5pm each day, with a one-hour lunch break for the first two weekends. The third Friday, 2pm-8pm and the final Sat-Sun 7:30am-4:30pm.
Participation in all scheduled activities is required for successful completion.

After an initial phone interview, potential candidates will receive an application.
